Robert Nelson, a partner of Grinder Haizlip Construction, brings over 25 years of leadership and expertise to the construction industry. A 1999 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, he began his career with a national contractor in the pulp and paper industry before joining Grinder Haizlip in 2003. His strategic vision and technical insight earned him a partnership in 2011 and the presidency in 2015. A LEED Accredited Professional since 2009, Robert is dedicated to sustainable construction, operational excellence, and long-term growth. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family at the lake and restoring classic vehicles.

Chris McDermott earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1982 and joined Grinder Haizlip Construction in 2000. Before that, he served as Senior Project Manager at Black & Veatch Engineering and at FedEx, designing and managing large scale projects. He is a former licensed professional engineer and current LEED Accredited Professional. Chris excels in solving complex challenges and fostering productive business relationships. Outside of work, his passions are family, faith, golf, grilling, traveling and OU Football.

Brad Burford holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi and brings over 30 years of construction industry experience to Grinder Haizlip Construction. Specializing in estimating and project management for industrial projects, he became a partner in 2011 and continues to drive the firm’s growth through his leadership and technical expertise. Outside of work, Brad enjoys quality time with his family and is an avid hunter, finding balance between his professional and personal passions.

Len Hester earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Management of Construction and Land Development from Mississippi State University. With over 20 years at Grinder Haizlip Construction, he has advanced through roles as project estimator, project manager, and now partner. Len specializes in commercial and industrial construction, and his commitment to fostering strong client relationships is demonstrated through his dedication to delivering exceptional service and high-quality projects. When not managing projects, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family.

A University of Mississippi graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Finance, Matt Fulcher is an Army combat veteran who served a tour in Afghanistan. With years of construction experience, he has managed projects ranging from schools and airports in combat zones to advanced automated facilities at FedEx Express and complex commercial and industrial builds at Grinder Haizlip. Deeply rooted in faith, Matt serves his community as an alderman and as a member of the planning and zoning commission.

John Fowler is a fourth-generation construction professional and seasoned project manager at Grinder Haizlip Construction. His career began in his family’s business, where he gained hands-on experience constructing convenience stores and installing petroleum systems. With over a decade of project management experience prior to joining Grinder Haizlip in 2013, John has successfully led large-scale projects across the Memphis market with a focus on precision and efficiency. Outside of work, he enjoys competitive tennis and golf and is a devoted supporter of the Ole Miss Rebels.

Donald Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Christian Brothers University and brings more than 25 years of diverse experience in the engineering and construction industries. Before joining Grinder Haizlip Construction in 2021, he served in various roles including Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer and Projects Engineer for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. Known for his innovative, client-focused approach, Donald excels in managing complex industrial projects with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife and three daughters, spending time outdoors, and serving in his church community.

Craig Morgan, Controller at Grinder Haizlip Construction, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Delta State University. With over 14 years of experience at a local CPA firm specializing in construction accounting, he brings extensive financial expertise to the company. Since joining Grinder Haizlip in 2017, Craig has overseen all financial operations with precision and strategic insight, helping ensure the company’s continued fiscal health and stability. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, supporting his two daughters in their sports and spending time with his family.

Doug Hilton serves as General Superintendent at Grinder Haizlip Construction, bringing more than 40 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction. Having held nearly every position in the field, Doug provides comprehensive leadership for all field operations, emphasizing safety, quality, and efficiency. His deep industry knowledge ensures each project meets the highest standards. Outside of work, Doug enjoys spending time with family and attending car shows, reflecting his passion for antique automobiles.

With over 18 years at Grinder Haizlip Construction, Chrissy Leek has advanced from receptionist to Office Manager, overseeing administrative operations and supporting a dynamic, efficient workplace. A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, she is an active member of the National Association of Women in Construction. A proud Army Reserve veteran, Chrissy is deeply involved in veteran support and advocacy through the American Legion and Irreverent Warriors. A devoted mother of five, she enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and volunteering in service-oriented programs that strengthen her community.
